Funny Stuff

Okay, two funny stories about the boys really quick and then I'll go to bed.

1. Raistlin (11 year old nephew) has been insisting that we treat him like the "pre-teen" that he is by recognizing that he isn't one of the little kids and giving him one of the little plastic cups to drink out of during meal time. He told Jeff yesterday that he wanted one of the grown-up drinking glasses when he was given a plastic cup at dinner time. Jeff then pointed out that Raistlin isn't yet a grown up and that he couldn't have one until he was 18 years old. He did tell him, though, that he didn't have to use the little kid cups anymore and went to the cupboard to get a pre-teen glass out for him. It was a shrimpy little juice glass! But it was made of glass, not plastic, so it wasn't a kid cup. Raistlin was chagrined, to say the least. He had a smaller cup and everyone was laughing as Jeff set it down on the table. He's a good sport, though. He just makes sure he gets his own glass before he sits down to eat his supper now.

2. Today we went to NP to make salsa with Jeff's mom. I took Ian and Dalamar (9 year old nephew) with me and the rest stayed home with Jeff. The boys played well while we chopped onions and blanched tomatoes. When it was finally lunch time Ian came in and told grandma that he wanted a "face sandwich." She agreed and proceeded to get a hamburger bun out, put ham and cheese on it and then decorate it to look like a face with raisins for eyes, shredded carrots for a mouth, a cheese nip for the nose and crunchy chinese noodles for the hair. She also gave him some applesauce to eat with it and he decided that it would be gel for the hair. We all sat down to eat our lunches and a few minutes later Ian said this to his sandwich.
"Your hair's almost gone, buddy. You'd better learn to live with it."
I laughed and laughed as I thought of all of the men in our family - both sides - who have or who are losing their hair!!! Funny!
