Phew! What a weekend!

My oh my. We've had a busy weekend! It started on Friday morning when we met up with Jeff's parents and siblings with their attachments at the Boise Zoo. We wandered here and there and saw all of the little animals that had decided to come out to play. The Boise Zoo is not a zoo with large animals, mostly there are a LOT of little ones. We miss the giraffes, elephants, camels and large apes that we've seen in Salt Lake. It was fun, though, to see all of the kids playing together and showing their excitement about being together.
Next we raced home and finished the last minute cleaning, mowing of the lawn, laundry, etc to get us ready for the weekend.
Finally, we ended up at Jeff's parents' home for a BBQ and games. It was fun. Poor Ian, he isn't very good at losing and cried quite a bit whenever he lost a race. I then got a phone call from my sister, Lisa, letting me know that she and her ride are almost here. Yay! We drove home and met up with them. Emma's best friend from Salt Lake came up to see her get baptized - what a great friend (not to mention her wonderful mother) to take the time and spend the money to drive up for a quick visit.
My mom and other sister, Samantha, were supposed to fly in late Friday night but their flight was cancelled!!! We were so worried they weren't going to make it on time the next day for the baptism.
Saturday we got food ready and bathed the kids. We had scheduled family pictures for that day and so went to the photographers. While we were there Samantha called and told us that their flight had finally arrived - whew! (And only 2 1/2 hours before the baptism!)
The service was wonderful. Each member of our families that were here participated in the program. Everything on the program wasn provided by someone who loved Emma. Emma was the only one getting baptized Saturday so the bishop made it very special for us. I was asked, at the last minute, if I'd be willing to bear my testimony. *big sigh* That was kind of scary. I was emotional and it was difficult for me to keep my composure. All in all it ended up being a wonderful time.
We brought everyone home with us and then Bar-B-Qued hamburgers and hotdogs for them. It was great to sit back and enjoy spending time with everyone.
Sunday morning we had to say goodbye to Lisa and Emma's friend because they had to drive home. We got ready for church and got there just in time. So, here we all are, Jeff and I with our 3 kids and my mom and Samantha. We did pretty well, the kids were great and were quiet - a first for us. Just after the sacrament Abbey decides that she wants to sing! She started to sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" so that everyone could hear. Ahh, my silly and goofy kids. At least they're providing me with some wonderful memories.
