So, today we went on a field trip for Ian's preschool to the fire station. He has been so excited to go that we've had a hard time with him. Well, the day finally came! We met his other preschool friends and all carpooled over to the firestation together. We met fire fighters, saw where they live when they're working and even got to climb around inside of the fire truck. The guys at the fire station even gave all of the kids free fire helmets... they were pretty good with the kids. Well, we were on our way home and I asked Ian what his favorite thing was - he said it was all pretty boring. I'm shocked and amazed. He was delighted to be there in the middle of it all but later decided that it wasn't as neat as he thought it should be. Go figure. I guess he thought they'd turn on the siren and give all of the kids a ride in the big red truck. Isn't that a misuse of public resources, or something? I'm just excited that they taught the kids about fire safety and when to call 911. (By the way, Abbey's the one in the picture with the bright pink shoes on in the middle of the group of kids. Silly girl.)
Jeff's sister, Callie, had her baby on Sunday. It's a little boy that they named Traysen. His mom went down today to spend time with them to help out for a couple of days and to do all of those things that moms are good at when we're not feeling our best. Not to mention the fact that she loves little babies and was really excited to see the newest addition to the family.
Not much else going on this week - we're a pretty boring lot. Oh, wait! I finally got curtains for the front room! JC Penny is having a curtain sale right now. We can only afford to do one room at a time - but the front room looks GREAT!!!
